Retitled
The title of a famous book, with its words swapped for others that mean much the same. Work out what it's really called. There's a new book every day at midnight, your time.
Play today's puzzleThe goal
Find every word of the real title. Below the reworded title there are boxes for each word of the real one, so you can see how long they are. Words the new title kept, such as THE or AND, are filled in.
Playing
- Type any word of the real title and press Enter to put it in place.
- If you know the whole title, type it all as one (no spaces) and press Enter.
- Names and unusual words count: the title is the answer, whether or not it is in the word list.
Hints
Show the author if the title rings no bells, or reveal a letter of the next word you have not found. A perfect day needs no hints.
Some examples
- Battle and Calm is WAR AND PEACE, by Leo Tolstoy.
- Huge Hopes is GREAT EXPECTATIONS, by Charles Dickens.
- Some are playful: Small Village is HAMLET, by William Shakespeare.
Finishing
The game ends when the whole title is in place, or when you press Finish. You'll then see the book, with a link to find a copy.
